Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (GCP)

What you'll do

• Own the enterprise GCP platform end-to-end, including organization structure, networking architecture, and landing zone patterns.
• Serve as the final technical authority on GCP engineering decisions regarding scalability, security, and operational excellence.
• Lead the cloud engineering team by setting technical direction, conducting design reviews, and mentoring engineers.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), naming conventions, and deployment practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and production-quality automation using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
• Architect GCP networking and security components, including Shared VPC, VPC Service Controls, and IAM least-privilege designs.
• Drive continuous automated compliance across regulatory frameworks like HIPAA, PCI, and SOC 2.
• Manage the GCP platform roadmap, including FinOps practices and the evaluation of emerging cloud capabilities.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years in cloud and infrastructure engineering.
• 5+ years of deep, hands-on GCP experience at enterprise scale.
• Proven ownership of a GCP organization including Resource Hierarchy, Billing, Org Policy, IAM, and multi-project governance.
• Demonstrated technical leadership leading a platform team or major enterprise cloud initiative.
• Deep GCP expertise in Compute, Networking, Data & Messaging, Security, IaC, and Observability.
• Proficiency in Python and Go languages.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification (preferred); Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer certification (preferred); HashiCorp Terraform certification (preferred).
