What you'll do

Define and evolve MongoDB's position within core data platform, search, embedding models, and AI agent categories.
Author and maintain positioning in the Positioning-as-Code (PAC) system to automate content generation for marketing and sales.
Manage governance processes and approval cycles with senior leadership to ensure messaging remains current and consistent.
Pressure-test category claims against competitor counterarguments and analyst critiques using data and stakeholder feedback.
Build reusable models and frameworks that provide other strategists with standardized methods to argue for MongoDB's position.
Represent the company in high-stakes executive briefings, analyst conversations, and flagship event narratives.
Assess launch-readiness for new products and features based on story-ready judgment calls.

What we're looking for

10+ years of experience in positioning, category creation, or narrative strategy within enterprise software.
Proven track record in database, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, or AI-native startups (preferred).
Experience building and defending a category position against a moving competitive set.
Ability to manage executive sign-offs and defend long-term positioning against short-term thinking.
Demonstrated ability to build frameworks or models that other strategists and marketers adopt.
Executive presence to brief C-suite stakeholders and hold positions under pushback from senior leadership.
Fluency with the AI ecosystem and experience working with AI/agents in a governed, versioned system.
Must be based in Dublin for the hybrid working model.
