Principal AI/LLM Agent Architect

What you'll do

• Define the reference architecture for AI agents, LLM orchestration, tool calling, and retrieval systems.
• Design secure integration patterns between AI systems and enterprise platforms like databases and telemetry systems.
• Establish standards for safe tool execution, least-privilege access, audit logging, and production controls.
• Build reusable platform capabilities to accelerate the delivery of multiple AI agents and workflow automations.
• Guide model selection, prompt engineering, latency/cost tradeoffs, and reliability design.
• Partner with leadership to shape roadmap sequencing, hiring plans, and team structure.
• Recruit, interview, and assess candidates for roles in AI engineering and platform reliability.
• Provide technical mentorship across coding patterns, delivery standards, and production quality.

What we're looking for

• Must possess 10+ years of experience.
• Active security clearance is required.
• Proficiency in AI agent architecture and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience in LLM application and platform design, including RAG and grounding patterns.
• Expertise in production software engineering and technical leadership beyond individual contribution.
• Experience leading small teams or technical programs.
• Experience interviewing and helping hire technical teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-AI leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
