What you'll do

  • Own architecture and technical strategy for frontend manufacturing platforms and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Lead design reviews and develop features for production-quality manufacturing applications using .NET, C++, Angular, Perl, and Python.
  • Establish standards and quality controls for the use of AI-generated code in high-consequence environments.
  • Modernize legacy manufacturing systems by performing technical assessments and migrating aging codebases.
  • Evaluate and operationalize AI development tools, including coding assistants and agentic workflows.
  • Mentor senior engineers and provide coaching to improve organization-wide proficiency in AI-assisted engineering.
  • Resolve complex, cross-system technical problems and serve as an escalation point for high-priority production incidents.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 10-12 years minimum of professional software engineering experience designing, delivering, and maintaining production applications.
  • Expertise in modern frontend development including Angular or comparable frameworks, TypeScript, and web application architecture.
  • Strong server-side experience with .NET/C# and proficiency in at least one of C++, Python, or Perl.
  • Proficiency applying AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows to production codebases.
  • Proven experience leading architecture for complex systems and influencing technical direction across multiple teams without formal authority.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical design reviews.
  • Ability to work on-site in Boise, Idaho, five days per week.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (preferred).
  • Experience leading the evaluation, rollout, and governance of AI development tooling (preferred).
  • Experience building custom AI engineering assets like agent configurations or prompt engineering libraries (preferred).
  • Experience modernizing legacy codebases, particularly Perl or C++ systems (preferred).
  • Background in semiconductor manufacturing, industrial automation, or high-availability operational technology (preferred).
  • Experience with real-time data visualization, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
