As a Power, Performance and Thermal Architect - Platform Architecture Team member, you will join the team responsible for ensuring Apple Silicon delivers a high-quality user experience while operating under physical constraints. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software to extend SoC power, performance, and thermal control architecture across various platforms and deployment scenarios. Your daily responsibilities include partnering with SoC and power delivery architects, operating system designers, and control system engineers to drive high-efficiency system architectures. You will develop and specify new hardware and software features designed to maximize capabilities under strict constraints. The role requires expertise in computer architecture, power management, software performance analysis, operating system implementation, power delivery control, thermal management, workload scheduling at scale, and machine learning workloads. This position focuses on solving complex technical challenges within the SoC domain.

What you'll do

Extend SoC power, performance, and thermal control architecture to new platforms and deployment scenarios.
Drive high-efficiency system architectures in collaboration with SoC, power delivery, and operating system teams.
Develop and specify new hardware features to maximize capabilities under physical constraints.
Design software features to optimize system performance within power and thermal limits.
Manage workload scheduling at scale for complex computing environments.
Implement advanced power delivery control and thermal management strategies.
Perform software performance analysis and optimization across the product lineup.

What we're looking for

B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar engineering degree.
Experience with computer architecture.
Experience with power management.
M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar engineering degree (preferred).
20+ years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
Experience with software performance analysis and optimization (preferred).
Experience with operating system implementation (preferred).
Experience with power delivery control, thermal management, workload scheduling, and machine learning workloads (preferred).
