At a glance
TL;DR · Physical Design Engineer
As a Physical Design Engineer, you will join the hardware team to manage complex SoC designs on advanced technology nodes of 7nm and below. Your daily responsibilities involve performing static and dynamic power reduction, implementing low-power design techniques like clock gating and multi-voltage domains, and executing critical Engineering Change Orders for timing, physical verification, and power grid integrity. You will perform floor planning, pin assignment, macro placement, and netlist to GDS2 implementation while collaborating with logic design teams to drive physical aspects early in the cycle. The role requires proficiency in Innovus or Fusion Compiler APR tools, as well as scripting languages like TCL, Perl, or Python for CAD tool flow automation. You will solve technical challenges related to IR/IVD analysis, LVC/DRC violations, and overall design closure for tape out.
