As a Phone Technician, you will join the telecommunications team to support the Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen program. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting phones and network connectivity for customers in the National Capital Region. Your daily tasks include planning installations using technical specifications, documenting system changes, terminating and testing cables, and using test meters to isolate malfunctioning components. You will also manage firmware updates, inventory supplies, and coordinate equipment logistics between warehouses and customer sites. To succeed, you must possess expertise in Voice over IP (VOIP), ISDN, and Analog phone installation. The role requires proficiency with the Remedy Ticketing System and a professional demeanor when providing training to clients regarding end device configurations and preferences within this complex government defense environment.

What you'll do

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot phones and network connectivity for customers in the National Capital Region.
  • Plan network installations using manuals and technical specifications.
  • Document system configuration changes following specific client documentation standards.
  • Terminate and test new cables to ensure they are properly integrated into the system.
  • Use test meters to identify and isolate malfunctioning circuits and components.
  • Install phone firmware and configure end devices based on customer preferences.
  • Track adds, moves, and changes using the Remedy Ticketing System.
  • Manage inventory, stage equipment at warehouses, and transport materials between sites.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Associate's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with industry standard Voice over IP (VOIP), ISDN, and Analog phone installation.
  • Proficiency in phone services, telecommunication systems, and telecommunication technologies.
  • US Citizenship.
