The Performance & Automation Test Engineer, Creativity Apps joins the Video Applications team to ensure high-quality performance and reliability for tools used by creative professionals and visual storytellers. This role involves defining and developing performance test cases, establishing metrics and benchmarks, and building scalable automation infrastructure for native applications. The engineer will design, write, and execute manual and automated tests while identifying bugs through advanced isolation techniques. Key technical requirements include proficiency in Swift and Python, as well as experience with Xcode, XCTest, and Instruments. Additional preferred skills include Go, Scala, Kubernetes, and Docker. The work focuses on the domain of video and photo technologies, specifically involving still image formats, video codecs, audio, and metadata to ensure mission-critical features are robust for release in a fast-paced development environment.
Develop performance testing cases including metrics, benchmarks, and automated regression detection.
Build and maintain scalable performance and automation infrastructure for native applications.
Design, write, and execute test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python.
Drive quality improvements and process optimizations to ensure features are production-ready.
Identify, isolate, and report bugs using advanced regression techniques.
Manage multiple deliverables while communicating progress and risks systematically.
Test AI/ML-enabled features to ensure optimal performance and functionality within applications.
What we're looking for
At least 2+ years of experience in Python or Swift.
At least 5 years of experience in test automation and/or tools and automation development.
Experience with testing tools used to track and assess native application performance across various scenarios and configurations.
Understanding of software and hardware performance testing methodologies and strategies.
Software engineering skills and computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
Demonstrated experience utilizing AI tools to automate daily workflows and enhance efficiency in repetitive tasks.
Hands-on experience with native application automation frameworks and building scalable testing infrastructure.
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
Experience in DevOps, Kubernetes, Docker, Xcode, Instruments, XCTest, Go, or Scala (preferred).
Experience with industry leading video/photo editing applications and AI/ML-enabled feature testing (preferred).
