P&C Technician II, Senior

What you'll do

• Install, test, and maintain protection and control devices including digital relays and SCADA systems.
• Maintain and operate power line carriers, fiber optics, and associated communication equipment.
• Perform switching operations under the direction of authorized personnel.
• Test and calibrate protection and control devices on a pre-established schedule.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions or damage and perform necessary corrective actions.
• Retrieve and analyze data from monitoring equipment to measure system disturbances.
• Maintain test equipment and vehicles in good working order for field use.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records, technical reports, and drawings of work performed.

What we're looking for

• Must possess an Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology, or a related field.
• Equivalent education may be substituted with military training or technical experience such as aviation or nuclear instrumentation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete the Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
• Must live within a 45-minute driving distance of the Kingsport, TN Service Center.
• Ability to perform heavy work involving exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Basic computer literacy and skills are required for data retrieval and reporting.
• Ability to read, understand, and correct electrical prints, diagrams, and instruction books.
