Nonstop Systems Administrator

What you'll do

• Administer and support HP NonStop (Tandem) servers in production and development environments.
• Monitor system performance and availability while performing proactive maintenance tasks.
• Apply operating system patches and software updates to the systems.
• Perform incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for technical issues.
• Manage backup procedures and disaster recovery protocols.
• Provide application teams with system configurations, performance tuning, and user access management.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support off-hours maintenance activities.

What we're looking for

• Must have 5+ years of experience administering HP NonStop (Tandem) systems.
• Must possess strong knowledge of HP NonStop OS, Guardian, OSS, and utilities like FUP, SCF, and TACL.
• Experience with system monitoring tools and job scheduling such as NetBatch or AutoSys is required.
• Must have strong scripting skills in TACL, SQLCI, Perl, or Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of NonStop SQL/MP or SQL/MX is required.
• Familiarity with security hardening, compliance, audit procedures, and enterprise change management (ITIL) is required.
• Experience in high-availability industries like banking, telecom, or retail is preferred.
• Must have a solid understanding of networking, storage, and disaster recovery concepts.
