NOC Shift Lead - Night Shift
The NOC Shift Lead joins the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office team to manage third-shift operations and incident response as part of a migration to a high security cloud environment. This role involves leading day-to-day activities, overseeing the monitoring of network, servers, applications, and infrastructure for performance issues, and managing the full lifecycle of incident triage and resolution. The successful candidate will coordinate with various technical teams, mentor staff during complex incidents, and maintain operational documentation while ensuring adherence to SLAs. Required skills include proficiency in Windows or Linux server environments, ITIL processes, and troubleshooting tools like SolarWinds or Splunk. Technical competencies include DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching, and experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira. The role addresses the challenge of establishing a modern secure web service operation for an expanding population.
Lead and coordinate daily operations tasks during the assigned 3rd shift.
Monitor network, servers, applications, and infrastructure for performance issues or outages.
Own incident triage, escalation, and resolution through final closure.
Coordinate technical activities with network, systems, security, application, and vendor teams.
Ensure strict adherence to SLAs, escalation procedures, and operational runbooks.
Analyze alerts and incidents to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
Conduct shift handovers and maintain accurate operational documentation and metrics.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team during complex incidents.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in a Windows or Linux server environment (additional education/training may be considered in lieu of degree).
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, such as Security+.
Experience leading an operations team or acting as a senior escalation point.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, and switching.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Splunk.
Experience with DISA support, CI Poly (preferred), or refining SOPs based on operational trends (preferred).
