TL;DR · New Graduate Mechanical Engineer

New Graduate Engineer, Mechanical - '26/'27 (Starlink) joins the satellite vehicle engineering organization to solve complex structural, thermal, and electromechanical problems for space-grade hardware. This role involves owning the full design lifecycle, from initial ideation and requirements gathering through manufacturing, high-volume production, and on-orbit operation. The engineer will perform environmental testing, drive design for manufacturing (DFM) to reduce part counts, and collaborate across functions to develop components like actuators, solar arrays, and battery packs. Candidates should possess a degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and experience with CAD and FEA software packages. Preferred skills include proficiency in NX, application of GD&T, structural analysis, and knowledge of material selection. The role addresses the technical challenges of building and maintaining a massive satellite constellation to provide global broadband internet access via advanced space hardware.

What you'll do

  • Own hardware from conceptual design through high-volume production and on-orbit operation.
  • Develop design criteria and collaborate on requirements to drive system-level optimization.
  • Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform systems trades and product direction.
  • Implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to reduce part counts and error-proof fabrication processes.
  • Establish efficient product lifecycles that balance cost, complexity, and quality across the supply chain.
  • Perform environmental and performance testing to validate hardware against design criteria.
  • Manage product delivery timelines through conception, assembly, and launch phases.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another engineering/STEM discipline.
  • Experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing.
  • Graduating in the class of 2026 or 2027.
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred).
  • Hands-on project or mechanical design experience with complex systems, preferably as a team lead of a university competitive engineering club (preferred).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred) and solid understanding of GD&T (preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
