Principal Specialist Network Engineer

What you'll do

• Install, maintain, support, and monitor classified network infrastructure.
• Plan and perform installation or reconfiguration of hardware and software for voice and data networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Manage network platforms including Cisco ISE with 802.1X, SolarWinds, and client-server environments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including operational instructions and network diagrams.
• Propose and configure solutions to optimize costs, redundancy, and network uptime.
• Resolve networking problems in tactical environments in coordination with program engineers.
• Provide mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing to improve the technical team's performance.

What we're looking for

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active and transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance is required.
• University degree with 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience is required.
• Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems is required.
• Security+ certification within 6 months is preferred.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within a year is preferred.
• Experience with Cisco ISE, 802.1X, SolarWinds, and government client-server environments is preferred.
• Experience with cabling, fiber standards, Visio, and encryption devices is preferred.
