Network Communications/ Principal Network Communications will join the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector team at Ellsworth AFB to provide critical support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance. The role involves real-time troubleshooting, fault isolation, and remediation of communication issues in environments including flightlines, hangars, and command-and-control centers. Responsibilities include managing equipment deployment, performing field integration, and providing 24/7 on-site support for the Ground Communications Interface. Candidates must possess expertise in LAN, WAN, and Cloud based networks, as well as experience with STIG compliance and encryption devices like TACLANES. Required tools and skills include WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, and Microsoft Office. The position addresses technical challenges in military flight operations by ensuring seamless data movement between Ground Systems and external networks while maintaining infrastructure through updates, configurations, and security patches for the mission.
Provide real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance.
Perform fault isolation, remediation, and resolution for communication and networking issues.
Execute field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of systems in flightline, hangar, and command centers.
Manage local networks through updates, configurations, security patches, and technical drawings.
Coordinate with partners to resolve connectivity and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external networks.
Analyze supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Provide 24/7 on-site support for the network operations of the Ground Communications Interface.
What we're looking for
Must have a high school diploma/GED plus 6 years experience, an Associate’s degree plus 4 years, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years in Network Communications/Administration.
For Principal level, must have a high school diploma/GED plus 9 years experience, an Associate’s degree plus 7 years, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years.
Must possess a Master's degree for the Network role or a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience for the Principal role.
Must hold a current CompTIA Security Plus or higher certification.
Must be able to maintain an adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and meet U.S. citizenship requirements.
Experience with STIG compliance, designing/maintaining LAN/WAN/Cloud networks, and maintaining network hardware and encryption devices (TACLANES) is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience using network analysis tools like WireShark or SolarWinds are required.
Active Top Secret clearance, remote cloud architecture experience, and flightline environment experience are preferred.
