The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Network Communications/ Principal Network Communications to join the team at Ellsworth AFB. This role provides real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance, focusing on fault isolation, remediation, and resolution. The individual will deploy equipment, perform field integration, and troubleshoot communications systems in flightline, hangar, and command-and-control environments. Key responsibilities include managing local network configurations, security patches, and encryption devices like TACLANES. Required skills include experience with LAN, WAN, and Cloud based networks, STIG compliance, and tools such as WireShark, Opnet, and SolarWinds. The position addresses technical problems within a military flight operations environment, ensuring seamless data movement between Ground Systems and external networks while providing 24/7 on-site support for the Ground Communications Interface.
Provide real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance.
Perform fault isolation, remediation, and resolution for communications and networking issues.
Deploy, account for, and control network equipment in military flight environments.
Troubleshoot and repair communications systems on the flightline, in hangars, and in command centers.
Provide 24/7 on-site support for network operations of the Ground Communications Interface.
Manage local networks through updates, configurations, security patches, and technical drawings.
Review supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Lead air crew engagement to solve complex technical problems during operations.
What we're looking for
Must have U.S. Citizenship.
Must be able to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance.
Must have a High School diploma/GED and 6 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 4 years, a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years, or a Master’s Degree.
For Principal level, must have a High School diploma/GED and 9 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 7 years, a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years, or a Master’s Degree and 3 years.
Must have a current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification.
Must have experience with STIG compliance, LAN/WAN/Cloud networks, network hardware, encryption devices (TACLANES), and network analysis tools.
Must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and work a flexible schedule including holidays, weekends, and 24/7 on-call status.
Active U.S. government Top Secret clearance, remote cloud architecture experience, and Air Force flightline or aircraft communication systems experience (preferred).
