Your role involves building vibrant technical communities, creating high-quality content, and representing developer interests internally to drive product adoption. You will engage with users through forums, social media, and GitHub, develop technical resources like blog posts and video tutorials, and speak at conferences on topics such as cloud-native data management and MySQL performance. Additionally, you will work closely with engineering teams to shape the MySQL Community Edition roadmap, manage advocacy programs, and foster open-source contributions while ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date. This role requires expertise in MySQL, cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as strong technical writing and public speaking skills.

What you'll do

  • Develop high-quality technical content on MySQL in cloud architectures.
  • Speak at conferences, webinars, and meetups on MySQL performance and best practices.
  • Collect and synthesize technical requirements for the MySQL Community Edition roadmap.
  • Serve as a technical bridge between community/users and MySQL engineering teams.
  • Drive technical community contribution programs to expand open-source participation.
  • Organize hackathons, workshops, and cloud sessions focusing on modern MySQL use cases.
  • Track and report metrics on community health, engagement, and adoption.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience with MySQL and cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong technical writing and public speaking skills demonstrated through published content and presentations.
  • Hands-on experience in architecting, deploying, and managing MySQL in cloud environments.
  • Experience cultivating online communities and responding to developer/user queries on forums and social media.
  • Proficiency in open-source development workflows including GitHub-based contribution models and PR reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across engineering, product, and community stakeholders.
  • Established credibility in the MySQL ecosystem through participation, speaking engagements, or contributions.
