What you'll do

  • Define and evolve the architecture for mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Lead technical decisions regarding application structure, scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Establish standards for mobile development, testing, release quality, and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with backend teams to define scalable API contracts, authentication patterns, and integration strategies.
  • Design solutions for features like push notifications, biometric authentication, document uploads, and camera workflows.
  • Drive modernization efforts by evaluating tools, frameworks, and patterns to improve developer productivity.
  • Support production reliability through improved monitoring, diagnostics, and operational practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers while guiding technical decision-making across the team.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience including mobile application development and architecture.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership role such as Architect, Staff Engineer, or Principal Engineer.
  • Experience building and scaling cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of iOS and Android platform architecture, lifecycle, performance, and native integrations.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript-based mobile development.
  • Experience integrating mobile apps with backend services, REST APIs, authentication systems (SSO, OAuth, JWT), and asynchronous processing.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, secure file handling, background jobs, caching, and search platforms.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
