What you'll do

Triage, diagnose, and resolve technical issues for deployed imaging systems across hardware, firmware, and network layers.
Develop and maintain modular software services on edge-compute devices in austere environments.
Provide direct technical support to field operators and non-technical users to resolve real-time hardware issues.
Serve as a subject matter expert during integrations with external teams and customers.
Maintain an end-to-end understanding of the system stack to optimize service interaction and failure handling.
Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and platform engineers to build and test complex functionalities.
Travel up to 15% of the time for field testing and on-site customer integrations.

What we're looking for

3+ years of experience in software development with meaningful production responsibility for systems after they ship.
Strong Python and C++ skills.
3+ years working in Linux-based environments, including bare-metal hardware.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries like networking, services, and hardware interaction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical problems to non-technical audiences.
Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time for field testing and customer integrations.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
Experience with gRPC, Linux service management, React/JSX, or Nix/NixOS (preferred); experience supporting fielded systems (preferred).
