What you'll do

  • Manage the health and uptime of deployed imaging systems across hardware, firmware, and network layers.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer support escalations regarding fielded equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues in remote or constrained field environments.
  • Create runbooks and automated tools to turn recurring technical issues into permanent, documented fixes.
  • Identify and document software defects to hand off clearly defined tickets to the engineering team.
  • Provide feedback from field data to improve system observability and upgrade safety.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting sessions with non-technical operators to resolve live equipment failures.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, field/systems engineering, or production support for deployed hardware/software systems.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals including troubleshooting networking issues like IP, routing, VPNs, and connectivity in remote environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries involving networking, services, and hardware interactions.
  • Ability to participate in a structured on-call rotation including after-hours and weekend coverage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote troubleshooting with non-technical operators and documentation.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Experience supporting fielded or deployed systems, hardware/sensor systems (EO/IR, optical), and sensor calibration (preferred).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash), Nix/NixOS, systemd management, and incident tooling like PagerDuty (preferred).
