As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Specialized team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering next-generation AI training, inferencing, virtual desktops, video, and gaming infrastructure for Azure. Your day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring consistent performance, scalability, and reliability of the platform across diverse hardware architectures and network types. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers to define and deploy cutting-edge hardware and software solutions, focusing on areas such as fiber networking, GPU differentiation, rack design, and cluster engineering. This role requires expertise in C#, PowerShell, Python, and deep knowledge of AI infrastructure, distributed systems, and high-performance computing. You will also engage with customers and partners to ensure alignment and drive the development of dynamic user experiences that meet evolving needs.

What you'll do

  • Design and deliver next-generation AI training and inferencing infrastructure for Azure.
  • Evaluate and recommend advancements in Azure infrastructure for AI and GPU-based workloads.
  • Build scalable, high-performance systems to handle massive computing demands from customer workloads.
  • Develop and maintain extensible, maintainable code within the engineering team.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor system health and initiate restoration actions.
  • Collaborate with partners across Microsoft’s ecosystem to ensure alignment and drive desirable user experiences.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience coding in C#, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • 2+ years in Deep Learning, AI Infrastructure, Distributed Systems, HPC/Machine Learning middleware, or Co-Designing Hardware-Software.
  • 4+ years building cloud services and supporting them during production.
  • Proven ability to lead customer engagement and support through deployment stages.
