CNN is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join its Multiplatform SDK ecosystem team as a technical authority, responsible for defining and executing the architecture of reusable SDKs and telemetry systems that enable consistent data collection across CNN’s digital products including web, mobile, and connected TV platforms. This role involves designing highly performing SDKs that standardize event collection and abstract platform complexity, collaborating with Data Engineering, Analytics, Product, and Advertising teams to implement reliable telemetry solutions, and contributing to the evolution of event schemas and instrumentation standards. The Sr. Software Engineer will also mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance while driving best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, observability, and maintainability. Required skills include deep expertise in SDK development, telemetry systems, analytics instrumentation, and experience with modern client ecosystems such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift, or React Native.

What you'll do
Lead the architecture, design, and development of multiplatform data collection SDKs for CNN’s digital products.
Build reusable client-side libraries that standardize analytics instrumentation and event delivery across web, mobile, and connected TV platforms.
Contribute to the evolution of event schemas and instrumentation standards to improve data quality and consistency.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance while promoting best practices in engineering.
Troubleshoot complex production issues related to SDK integrations and telemetry pipelines.
What we're looking for
5+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in SDK development and telemetry systems
Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and reliable event delivery patterns
Strong skills in at least one modern client ecosystem like TypeScript/JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift, or React Native
Experience building shared libraries and frameworks used across multiple applications or teams
Expertise in designing stable APIs and reusable software abstractions for SDK consumers
