Metal Plate Former/Fabricator, Maritime

What you'll do

• Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models to manufacture high-quality parts.
• Program, set up, and operate manual, semi-automated, and CNC plate rollers, hydraulic presses, and shears.
• Design and implement work holding and fixture methods for the production floor.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on rolling, forming, and contouring various metals and alloys.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and make necessary adjustments during the production process.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the fabrication and assembly stages.
• Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance of the work area.
• Mentor and supervise the fabrication team on safe handling and metal forming techniques.

What we're looking for

• Must have at least 8 years of experience as a metal forming technician.
• Proven experience setting up and operating plate rolling machines for various metal thicknesses.
• Extensive experience operating hydraulic press brakes for forming and bending.
• High level of familiarity with various alloys and metals.
• Knowledgeable in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient in using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
