What you'll do

  • Design and develop robust mechanical and electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components based on specific requirements.
  • Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation for various hardware projects.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturability assessments during the development phase.
  • Build, assemble, and evaluate prototypes to validate performance requirements and system functionality.
  • Execute comprehensive test plans including environmental, vibration, thermal, and functional testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in high-priority scenarios while performing root cause analysis on failures.
  • Integrate new mechanical systems into existing platforms and infrastructure for communication and antenna systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and configuration improvements on deployed electromechanical equipment.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Experience with full-lifecycle engineering including concept development, prototyping, testing, integration, and sustainment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD/CAM software and creating technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems using hand tools and precision measurement equipment.
  • Strong understanding of materials, machining processes, fasteners, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturing methods like CNC machining or 3D printing.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
