The Material Planner, Air Dominance & Strike joins the Demand & Supply Planning team to manage material flow across the entire value chain for defense hardware, including static equipment, mobile ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This individual takes full ownership of specific product lines, providing critical signals to purchasing and manufacturing teams regarding what and when to buy or build. Key responsibilities include developing production plans, identifying part shortages, forecasting component needs, managing consumables inventory, and maintaining master data within the system. The role requires proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, specifically NetSuite, and involves coordinating with engineering and supply chain teams to ensure high-quality manufacturing. Candidates should possess experience with complex mechanical or electrical assemblies and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles to solve operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Develop and manage production plans by coordinating with Purchasing to ensure component availability and schedule production.
Provide clear-to-build visibility regarding part shortages to both purchasing and production teams.
Generate accurate forecasts for the Supply Chain team regarding components required for manufacturing.
Collaborate with Engineering to provide visibility on material coverage during component changes.
Manage consumables inventory levels to ensure continuous support for production activities.
Develop and maintain processes within the ERP system and associated master data.
Own the full material flow from raw materials through finished goods shipped to customers.
What we're looking for
3+ years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in a supply chain or production role involving complex mechanical or electrical assemblies.
Prior knowledge of NetSuite or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Ability to travel up to 15-20%.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field, supply chain, or business with a technical concentration (preferred).
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma principles (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to own a value chain from start to finish while coordinating multiple parties for on-time delivery (preferred).
