Manufacturing Engineer

What you'll do

• Manage the manufacturing lifecycle from initial prototyping through high-volume production for Altius systems.
• Integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback into the engineering process to streamline transitions from design to production.
• Serve as a technical liaison for mechanical fabrication and avionics during the development process.
• Create and maintain essential manufacturing documentation, including MBOMs, work instructions, and requirements.
• Develop and implement automated testing and production methodologies to scale capabilities for complex products.
• Analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality, and capacity.
• Travel to supplier sites to conduct sourcing, resolve production issues, and implement process procedures.

What we're looking for

• Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware.
• Ability to deliver electromechanical hardware creatively in resource-constrained environments.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Experience with aircraft programs or other aerospace and defense technologies is preferred.
• Software scripting experience in any language is preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards is preferred.
