Manager, Statistics provides statistical expertise to the research and development organization to support clinical trials, patient safety, and global medical affairs. The role involves designing, analyzing, and reporting on scientific research studies by developing protocols, statistical analysis plans, and data collection instruments. Key responsibilities include performing statistical analyses, collaborating with programming teams for high-quality outputs, and creating strategies for data presentation in publications. The position requires advanced proficiency in R to develop reusable code and Shiny applications within a GxP environment. Candidates must also possess experience applying machine learning or AI methods, including large language models and agentic workflows, to scientific use cases. This role solves complex problems in drug development and life-cycle management by ensuring statistical rigor, reproducibility, and the translation of end-user requirements into production-grade solutions within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop statistical analysis plans and protocols for clinical trials and scientific research studies.
  • Perform complex statistical analyses and provide programming specifications for derived variables and data sets.
  • Develop strategies for data presentation, inference, and the creation of consistent tables, listings, and figures.
  • Maintain reusable statistical analysis codes, templates, and quality-control assets following GxP requirements.
  • Design and deliver AI-enabled analytical workflows while ensuring scientific rigor and reproducibility in regulated environments.
  • Translate end-user requirements into production-grade solutions and interactive interfaces like R/Shiny applications.
  • Communicate complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.

What we're looking for

  • MS with 6+ years of experience or PhD with 2+ years of experience in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.
  • High degree of technical competence and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform statistical computations and simulations.
  • Ability to identify data or analytical issues and provide solutions through personal expertise or collaboration.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners.
  • Pharmaceutical or related industry knowledge, including drug development and life-cycle management in a regulated environment (preferred).
  • Advanced programming proficiency in R, including developing reusable functions and Shiny applications in a GxP environment.
  • Hands-on experience applying machine learning or AI methods to scientific or workflow-automation use cases (preferred).
