Staff Software Engineering Manager

What you'll do

• Build and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-performance commercial insurance products.
• Lead the execution of a technical roadmap to increase product delivery velocity and unlock new capabilities.
• Develop and manage high-performance applications and platforms with generative AI capabilities.
• Improve application performance, user experience, and test automation efficiency.
• Transition the business from a traditional IT model to a tech organization focused on engineering excellence.
• Solve critical operational problems by leveraging and innovating new engineering solutions.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, build and release practices, and application monitoring tools.
• Communicate technical and non-technical information effectively to senior leadership and engineering staff.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including software development lifecycle best practices.
• 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment.
• 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment.
• 2+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing.
• Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers.
• Strong Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python or Java and experience with open-source software (preferred).
