Staff Software Engineering Manager

What you'll do

• Build and manage a team of engineers focused on delivering high-performance commercial insurance products.
• Develop and manage technical roadmaps to increase product delivery velocity and unlock new capabilities.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into the development of applications and platforms.
• Improve application performance, user experience, and test automation for existing systems.
• Drive the transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization focused on engineering excellence.
• Solve critical operational problems by creating or enhancing innovative engineering solutions.
• Manage project workflows using tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps in a cloud environment.
• Communicate technical roadmaps and performance metrics to both technical and non-technical senior leadership.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience including SDLC best practices.
• 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment.
• 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment.
• 2+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing.
• Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers.
• Strong Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python or Java (preferred).
