Software Engineering Manager III, Accounting

What you'll do

• Lead a team of 50+ full-stack engineers through multiple levels of line management.
• Develop a virtual accounting assistant to automate 80% of business financial record tasks.
• Build AI-driven automation for data entry, transaction classification, and ledger reconciliation.
• Design systems to identify duplicate or related transactions across diverse data feeds.
• Partner with data scientists to build personalized transaction categorization models for each customer.
• Automate the bank reconciliation process to highlight discrepancies and provide suggested fixes.
• Implement AI-based chat workflows to guide users through complex accounting scenarios.
• Ensure the accounting platform scales seamlessly from solopreneurs to mid-market enterprise customers.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in a technology-driven environment.
• Expertise in building large scale distributed systems with data pipelines.
• Expertise in AI/ML technologies and their application in product development.
• Solid understanding of backend technologies like Java, Kotlin, Scala, and Python and frontend technologies like React.
• Proven experience in building customer-facing end products.
• Excellent communication and team management skills.
• Ability to work with diverse customer personas and meet their unique needs.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial management (preferred).
