As a Machine Learning Scientist - Natural Language Processing (NLP) - Senior Associate within the Machine Learning Center of Excellence, you will own the full lifecycle of developing and deploying machine learning solutions from ideation to production. You will serve as a leading voice on Generative AI, partnering with various business lines to innovate solutions that drive transformational change. Your daily responsibilities include researching state-of-the-art models for GenAI tasks, designing training frameworks, and building large-scale frameworks to accelerate machine learning applications across the firm. You will utilize tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas while applying deep learning methods and scientific thinking. The role focuses on solving complex business challenges by leveraging advanced machine learning techniques to improve productivity and risk management within a large-scale financial services environment.

What you'll do

Research and develop state-of-the-art machine learning models to solve real-world problems.
Develop and deploy Generative AI (GenAI) solutions across various business lines.
Act as a thought partner for leadership to identify and implement impactful machine learning methods.
Drive cross-functional collaboration with legal, compliance, and product teams to move models into production.
Create large-scale frameworks to accelerate the application of machine learning across the firm.
Design experiments and training frameworks while evaluating performance metrics aligned with business goals.
Communicate complex technical concepts and results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we're looking for

A PhD in a quantitative discipline or an MS with at least 2 years of industry or research experience.
Solid background in Generative AI (GenAI) and deep learning methods.
Hands-on experience with machine learning toolkits such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas.
Ability to design experiments, training frameworks, and evaluate model performance metrics aligned with business goals.
Strong written and spoken communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
Knowledge in search/ranking or Meta Learning is preferred.
Experience with A/B experimentation, cloud-native deployment, and developing production-quality code is preferred.
Published research in Machine Learning or Deep Learning at a major conference or journal is preferred.
