What you'll do

Build and refine model pipelines to power machine learning driven user experiences across Apple platforms.
Research and prototype innovative techniques to improve model behavior and intelligence.
Develop and maintain scalable modeling pipelines that support multiple languages and production deployment.
Define robust automated evaluation metrics to measure progress and facilitate model improvement.
Conduct failure analysis to identify and address specific shortcomings in existing models.
Curate and synthesize representative training and evaluation data for model development.
Implement experiments and simulations to assess the impact of various model modifications.
Collaborate with language experts to refine modeling approaches based on language-specific requirements.

What we're looking for

MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
At least 2 years of industry experience.
Strong Python programming skills with experience developing production-quality modules.
Solid background in machine learning, data science, natural language processing, or statistics.
Experience building and maintaining end-to-end model pipelines from data curation to evaluation.
Ability to design and perform experiments that bring ML and NLP research ideas to production.
Familiarity with LLMs, including SFT, RLHF, prompt engineering, data synthesis, automatic evaluation, and RAG.
History of developing in Python and/or Swift.
