TL;DR · Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer

As a Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer on the Computer Vision Systems team, you will drive the future of AI-accelerated computer vision on edge devices. You will research, design, and implement critical video processing algorithms including depth estimation, optical flow, super-resolution, 3D reconstruction, and SLAM. Your daily work involves developing optimized model architectures using transformers, attention, VLA/VLM, and world models for deployment on resource-constrained SoC platforms. You will profile performance across memory, compute, power, and bandwidth constraints while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements. The role requires proficiency in Python, C/C++, and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, and OpenCV. You will solve complex problems involving the integration of advanced computer vision algorithms into mobile, automotive, XR, IoT, and robotics systems through efficient hardware and software implementation.

What you'll do

  • Research, design, and implement critical video processing and computer vision algorithms like depth estimation and SLAM.
  • Develop optimized model architectures and training strategies for deep learning deployment on resource-constrained edge platforms.
  • Profile and optimize algorithm performance regarding memory, compute, power, and bandwidth constraints on mobile devices.
  • Create supervised and non-reference quality metrics to evaluate model performance across various use cases.
  • Own the end-to-end training and development process for new release models in key customer segments.
  • Write technical documentation, design specifications, and feature descriptions to guide internal teams and external partners.
  • Propose new intellectual property and contribute to industry conferences regarding AI-accelerated computer vision.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of experience, OR a Master's with 1+ year, OR a PhD.
  • Strong background in computer vision and video processing algorithms (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing computer vision and video algorithms within system-level products (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with modern deep learning architectures (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python for production-quality development, optimization, and on-device deployment using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, and OpenCV.
  • Experience deploying AI algorithms on the edge and understanding of resource limitations such as power and memory bandwidth (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large, matrixed organization (preferred).
  • Publication, patent, or external technical contribution experience (preferred).
