The M365 Engineer joins the IT department to manage the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and support of the Microsoft 365 platform across the enterprise. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, governance, and adoption of core services while providing a secure digital workplace experience. The engineer serves as a technical expert for Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Entra ID, Power Platform, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing licensing, configuring security controls like Multi-Factor Authentication and Data Loss Prevention, and developing automation solutions using PowerShell, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Microsoft Graph API. The role focuses on solving technical challenges related to collaboration, productivity, and identity management within a global enterprise environment to streamline operations and enhance information architecture.
Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
Manage platform health, performance, service configurations, licensing, and complex technical troubleshooting.
Design and implement collaboration solutions to improve employee productivity and manage information architecture.
Implement security and compliance controls such as Multi-Factor Authentication, Data Loss Prevention, and Sensitivity Labels.
Support the deployment and governance of Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI-enabled services.
Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Microsoft Graph to streamline operations.
Lead technical projects involving migrations, upgrades, and the evaluation of new platform features.
Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for high-level incidents and maintain technical documentation.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 tenants and implementing security and compliance controls.
Experience with hybrid identity and authentication technologies.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Purview, Defender, and Copilot.
Knowledge of Power Platform, Microsoft Graph API, and Identity & Access Management (MFA, Conditional Access).
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or ITIL Foundation (preferred); experience with Azure services (preferred).
