The Learning Analytics Data Scientist, Employee Experience & Productivity, IS&T joins the Employee Productivity & Support Data Science team to improve how the organization trains employees and delivers knowledge resources. You will partner with knowledge and training leaders to translate business questions into analytical work, building and maintaining dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing SQL to model large datasets, building Tableau dashboards, and conducting deep-dive analyses on training effectiveness and content performance. You will extract and validate data from training platforms, content management systems, and web analytics while using AI tools to accelerate insight generation. The role requires proficiency in Python or R, GitHub for version control, and experience with statistical modeling to solve problems regarding learner engagement and curriculum design.
Translate business questions from training leaders into actionable data problems and evidence-based recommendations.
Extract, clean, and validate data from multiple learning platforms and content management systems.
Build and maintain Tableau dashboards to identify trends and surface anomalies in training performance.
Conduct deep-dive analyses on training effectiveness and package findings into audience-ready slides or visualizations.
Use AI tools to accelerate insight generation, data classification, and the speed of analytical work.
Write clean SQL and maintain reproducible analytical workflows using GitHub for team collaboration.
Monitor data quality across training sources and proactively work with data engineering to resolve issues.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a related quantitative field.
Master's degree in a quantitative or business discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.
3+ years of experience working with learning and development data, including training platforms, content performance metrics, or learner engagement data.
3+ years of hands-on experience writing SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data from large, multi-source datasets.
3+ years of experience building dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, Looker, or equivalent.
1+ years of experience in Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
3+ years of experience delivering analytical work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and multiple concurrent stakeholders.
Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative or business field (preferred).
