Lead Software Engineer, Tableau

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions for complex technical problems.
• Build interactive Tableau dashboards and visualizations to make complex information accessible for business decisions.
• Analyze large datasets in Snowflake to identify unique storytelling opportunities and insights.
• Import, transform, and analyze data from disparate sources to support data models.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Establish validation standards for AI outputs including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
• Utilize the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to implement automation and enhance operational outcomes.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Expertise in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in best practices regarding data visualization and storytelling.
• Experience with requirements gathering and client interactions.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and performance standards.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling.
• Practical cloud native experience and ability to work with disparate data sources.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Data Warehousing and Data Lake experience (preferred).
• Experience in aggregating and transforming data for optimized reporting (preferred).
• Proficiency in SQL queries, including developing and optimizing procedures and views (preferred).
• Familiarity and experience working with Tableau Agent and Tableau Pulse (preferred).
