As a Lead Software Engineer - Regulatory Reporting within the External Reporting and Financial Technology team, you will serve as a core technical contributor focused on the Last Mile Reporting platform. You will design, build, and improve scalable architecture and infrastructure using AI-assisted engineering, automation, and modern software development practices. Your daily responsibilities include developing high-quality production code, reviewing peer code, and applying AI prompt engineering and agent-based workflows to improve operational stability. You will utilize Python, Java, SQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and Databricks to deliver trusted regulatory and financial reporting capabilities. The role requires solving complex problems related to data flows, integration patterns, and reporting requirements while ensuring platform reliability, security, and data lineage within a production environment.
Design, build, and improve the Last Mile Reporting platform architecture and infrastructure.
Develop, review, and debug high-quality production code in Python and Java.
Apply AI prompt engineering and agent-based workflows to automate manual tasks and improve stability.
Evaluate architectural options, data flows, and integration patterns for regulatory and financial reporting solutions.
Lead the adoption of new engineering practices, including AI-assisted development and responsible technology use.
Manage system design, testing, deployment, and monitoring for complex enterprise applications.
Implement cloud architecture and containerized deployment patterns using AWS and Kubernetes.
Perform data modeling, SQL analysis, and data quality reconciliations for reporting data flows.
What we're looking for
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including hands-on delivery and support of enterprise technology platforms.
Demonstrated experience building and supporting regulatory and/or financial reporting applications in production environments.
Hands-on programming experience in Python, Java, or other mainstream programming languages to design, build, test, and maintain high-quality code.
Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational stability for complex applications.
Practical experience using AI tools, prompt engineering, and agent-based workflows to improve software engineering productivity and platform operations.
Strong understanding of cloud architecture (AWS, Kubernetes), containerized deployment, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including data modeling, reporting data flows, data quality, reconciliations, and controls.
Basic understanding of financial and regulatory concepts, including reporting requirements, controls, data lineage, and financial data interpretation.
