As a Lead Software Engineer- Python within the Corporate Sector, you will join an agile team focused on building and delivering secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. You will serve as a core technical contributor responsible for designing creative software solutions, developing high-quality production code, and troubleshooting complex problems across various business functions. Your daily work involves driving the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational stability while conducting evaluations with external vendors on architectural designs. You will utilize Python, database querying languages, and cloud native technologies like AWS to solve technical challenges within the financial services industry. The role requires expertise in the full Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, while ensuring responsible AI usage and potentially utilizing React for front-end components.
Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Design and implement creative software solutions that solve complex technical problems beyond conventional approaches.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for automated testing, secure coding, and peer review processes.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to maximize the value of automation.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages and expertise in Python.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and performance standards.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and coaching engineers on compliant adoption.
Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, continuous integration, continuous deployment, application resiliency, and security.
Experience in financial services IT systems, cloud native technologies, or front-end tools like React (preferred).
