As a Lead Software Engineer within Corporate Technology, you will join an agile team focused on building and delivering secure, stable, and scalable data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions. Key responsibilities include enforcing data governance via Unity Catalog, performing performance tuning, and mentoring engineers on best practices. You will solve complex technical problems involving CDC, schema evolution, and infrastructure as code while ensuring high-quality production workloads.

What you'll do

Architect and design multi-layer lakehouse architectures including bronze, silver, and gold layers.
Build and operate scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake on AWS.
Implement resilient batch and streaming ingestion processes from various AWS sources.
Enforce data governance, security controls, and PII classification across all data products.
Optimize Spark performance, cluster sizing, and storage layouts to manage costs and efficiency.
Manage production reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and SLA management.
Lead technical design reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor team members on best practices.
Automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines for Databricks and AWS.

What we're looking for

At least 7 years of experience in data engineering.
At least 2 years of experience leading delivery or architecture for multi-team data platforms.
Hands-on experience building and operating a Databricks Lakehouse hosted in AWS.
Deep experience with Delta Lake features including ACID tables, partitioning, and schema evolution.
Proven expertise with Spark on Databricks, including performance tuning, cluster sizing, and skew mitigation.
Experience with streaming and batch pipelines using Structured Streaming and incremental processing.
Strong AWS fundamentals including S3, IAM, KMS, and networking basics.
Proficiency in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for Databricks and AWS resources.
