As a Lead Software Engineer, you will join the Consumer & Community Banking team as a Software Engineer III SQL Server Database Engineer. What you'll do

Design and develop secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms.
Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring all design constraints are met.
Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to generate code, refactor systems, and create unit tests.
Analyze large datasets to develop visualizations and reporting for continuous software improvement.
Identify hidden patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
Participate in tactical and strategic database modernization planning and pattern development.
Provide direct support for database design, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for development teams.
Partner with cloud and PaaS teams to resolve issues and implement self-service capabilities.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments using modern programming and database querying languages.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to create, validate, and refine outputs for security and performance.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs and outputs.
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Experience with SQL Server, Aurora Postgres, CockroachDB, and AWS or Azure database services.
Experience supporting databases in DevOps, performing database upgrades and migrations, and proficiency in automation and continuous delivery.
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems (preferred).
Direct experience with NoSQL databases (preferred).
