As a Lead Software Engineer within the Common Components team, you will join an agile group focused on building and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will utilize Java, AWS, and cloud native technologies to develop high-quality production code and conduct technical troubleshooting. The role requires expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle, CI/CD, and advanced experience with AI-assisted engineering practices. You will also lead evaluations of architectural designs for internal systems within the financial services industry context.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code for reusable frameworks, SDKs, and firm-wide tools.
Design agent-native components that are consumed by LLMs and modern developer tooling.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Solve complex problems related to authentication, resiliency, observability, and compliance at scale.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
5+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
Experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and cloud native technologies.
