Lead Software Engineer, Common Components

What you'll do

• Design and develop secure, high-quality production code for firmwide frameworks, SDKs, and applications.
• Conduct technical troubleshooting and create creative solutions for complex, non-conventional technical problems.
• Review and debug code written by other team members to ensure quality and security.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review and testing.
• Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating outputs for security and performance.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.
• Advanced experience in Java (preferred).
• Experience building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms that other engineering teams consume (preferred).
• Experience with agent-native tooling (MCP, LLM tooling) and AI-assisted development workflows (preferred).
• Contributions to open-source or internal shared-library ecosystems (preferred).
