Lead, Project Engineering joins the Spectral Solutions engineering team to provide full lifecycle leadership across software and hardware development, assembly, integration, and test efforts. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing technical activities from concept through design, build, verification, and sustainment. The individual will manage project teams to meet customer requirements within cost and schedule commitments while identifying risks and managing resources. Key responsibilities include tracking budgets using Earned Value indicators on DCMA surveilled programs and performing value stream mapping. Required expertise includes satellite system development, system integration, verification and validation, and production support. Preferred skills involve space-based remote sensing payloads, defense missions, software integration, and Root Cause Corrective Action techniques. The role addresses complex technical challenges in the domain of space vehicles and multi-discipline programs for defense missions.
Lead project teams to meet customer requirements within established cost and schedule commitments.
Oversee the cost, schedule, and technical aspects of engineering projects from concept through delivery.
Manage project budgets and drive execution to achieve specific payment milestones.
Identify, track, and mitigate program-level risks and opportunities.
Estimate resource and material needs for products and projects.
Coordinate between resource managers and supervisors to ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are obtained.
Develop and manage project schedules using Earned Value (EV) indicators on DCMA surveilled programs.
Resolve engineering issues to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience, a graduate degree and 7 years of experience, or no degree and 13 years of experience.
Integrated product team lead/Cost account management (IPTL/CAM) experience.
Experience in satellite system development.
Experience with system integration, verification and validation, and production or deployment support.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Experience with best practices for project engineering and program execution (preferred).
Experience with space based remote sensing payloads, space vehicles, defense missions, or multi-discipline programs across multiple locations (preferred).
