Lead Principal Network Hardware Engineer

What you'll do

• Define the organization-wide strategy for network hardware platforms, components, and emerging optical technologies.
• Govern qualification standards and resolve complex interoperability issues for strategic hardware releases.
• Manage supplier ecosystems to drive joint development, custom SKUs, and cost/power optimization.
• Integrate security gating into release processes and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
• Direct large-scale pilot programs, phased rollouts, and global deployment readiness criteria.
• Establish canonical metrics for reliability and efficiency while sponsoring automation and lab infrastructure investments.
• Serve as a technical escalation point to solve advanced problems using data-driven techniques.
• Mentor senior engineers and lead communities of practice to foster internal knowledge sharing.

What we're looking for

• Must have 6 to 10+ years of experience in network hardware and optical platforms.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Experience setting technical direction for network hardware and establishing enterprise standards.
• Expertise in managing supplier ecosystems and driving cost/power optimization.
• Ability to resolve high-complexity interoperability issues and lead advanced problem-solving efforts.
• Capability to manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets for high-impact initiatives.
• Experience influencing cross-functional leaders and external stakeholders to align on strategic objectives.
• Proven ability to serve as a subject matter expert and mentor others in the field.
