Lead Platform Engineer - Palo Alto (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering) joins the Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering division to enable and evolve the foundational cloud infrastructure layer, focusing on observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability. In this role, you will collaborate with product owners to define application capabilities, improve software engineering practices, and work across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions for a full-stack of development tools. You will lead the craftsmanship, scalability, and reliability of these systems while mentoring other engineers. The role requires expertise in Python, SQL, Ruby, Groovy, Docker, ECS, Ansible, Terraform, and various AWS services. Additionally, you will utilize experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Panorama, network switching, routing, load balancing, firewall solutions, and intrusion detection or protection systems to solve complex infrastructure problems.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions across a full stack of development tools.
Manage the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of engineering solutions.
Develop and support infrastructure for observability, connectivity, and cloud reliability.
Automate workflows using scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby, and Groovy.
Manage container orchestration services including Docker and ECS.
Implement configuration management and infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current on emerging technology trends.

What we're looking for

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory.
At least 4 years of experience with AWS.
At least 2 years of team leadership experience.
Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW, including Panorama.
7+ years of experience with network switching, routing, load balancing, and firewall solutions.
Work authorization that require immigration support from an employer.
