Lead Java Engineer | Payments Technology will join the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology team to design, build, and deliver innovative technology solutions for critical banking and capital markets platforms. This role involves leading complex, large-scale initiatives, developing engineering standards, and performing high-level technical analysis to solve intricate challenges in the wholesale payments domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for coding, testing, debugging, and documenting projects while mentoring peers and collaborating with stakeholders. Required technical skills include Java application development, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud implementation technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, or PCF. Preferred qualifications include experience with Oracle or MongoDB, Microservices, REST APIs, Containerization, Angular or ReactJS, Oracle Service Bus, Domain Driven Design, and Event-based integration within an Agile environment to support global banking, lending, and investment services.

What you'll do

Lead complex technology initiatives that have a broad impact across the entire company.
Develop standards and best practices for engineering large-scale technology solutions.
Design, code, test, debug, and document software for various projects and programs.
Analyze complex technical solutions to ensure they meet strategic business objectives and enterprise requirements.
Make high-level decisions on engineering standards while influencing teams to adopt new technologies.
Consult with technical experts and external groups to resolve complex technical issues.
Mentor peers and lead project teams to achieve organizational goals.

What we're looking for

5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, training, military service, or education.
5+ years of experience with Java application development.
3+ years of experience in Spring Boot.
2+ years of experience with Kafka.
2+ years of experience with cloud implementation technologies including Azure, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, or PCF.
3+ years of experience in Business Process Orchestration (preferred).
3+ years of experience in database technologies such as Oracle or MongoDB (preferred).
Experience with Microservices/SOA, REST APIs, API Gateway, Containerization, Agile, front-end frameworks, and Design Patterns (preferred).
