Lead Electronics Integration and Test Engineer
The Lead Electronics Integration and Test Engineer joins a team dedicated to the operation, maintenance, enhancement, and certification of the RS-25 Hardware in the Loop Lab. This role supports the development and maintenance of special test equipment used to conduct simulated launch tests with the RS-25 engine control system for the Space Launch System Rocket. Key responsibilities include performing failure analysis, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring the flawless integration of test equipment, flight hardware, and flight software. The candidate will manage requirements capture, drawing development, and equipment validation. Required skills include experience in system architecture, hardware design, and electronics measurement techniques. Proficiency with communication protocols for oscilloscopes, power supplies, waveform generators, and logic analyzers is essential for automating lab equipment and verifying system requirements.
Maintain, certify, and ensure the operational readiness of special test equipment.
Perform failure analysis to identify issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Integrate test equipment, flight hardware, and flight software with hardware and software teams.
Support test equipment development including requirements capture, drawing development, and vendor evaluation.
Conduct requirement verification and equipment validation for new test systems.
Develop test operation procedures and equipment certification procedures.
Operate and maintain the RS-25 Hardware in the Loop Lab (HILL) systems.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of Electronic Integration and Test experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of Electronic Integration and Test experience.
Minimum of 13 years of Electronic Integration and Test experience in lieu of a degree.
3 years of industry experience developing custom electronic test equipment including system architecture, hardware design, and requirement verification and validation.
4+ years of experience in electronics integration and testing, preferably in the aerospace industry (preferred).
Knowledge of measurement techniques and communication protocols for lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers (preferred).
Experience in verification of test systems, troubleshooting, and experience with rocket engines or propulsion systems (preferred).
