What you'll do

  • Define the AI strategy and technical goals for clinical AI capabilities in partnership with product and engineering teams.
  • Establish rigorous standards for model evaluation, monitoring, and clinical validation to ensure trustworthy and auditable results.
  • Ensure all AI applications comply with healthcare regulations, corporate policies, and responsible AI governance standards.
  • Implement modern machine learning techniques, including LLMs and generative AI, to extract insights from clinical data at scale.
  • Optimize the cost, latency, reliability, and scalability of production AI models to support growing enterprise demand.
  • Accelerate time-to-market by developing reusable model patterns and evaluation harnesses for various squads.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of data scientists while hiring and retaining top technical talent.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or applied AI with hands-on depth in machine learning, NLP, LLMs, and generative AI.
  • 5+ years of experience setting AI/ML technical direction across multiple teams while coordinating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of people management experience with a proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong technical teams.
  • Experience delivering healthcare AI or analytics capabilities to production at enterprise scale using clinical, claims, or member data.
  • Deep experience in production ML discipline including model evaluation, monitoring, lifecycle management, and managing trade-offs for cost, latency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Hands-on experience operating within healthcare AI regulatory and responsible AI constraints, such as HIPAA and NCQA standards.
  • Fluency in Python and SQL with the ability to review and guide technical work at the code and model level.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative or technical field; Master’s degree or higher preferred.
