Lead Data Engineer As a Lead Data Engineer, you will join an agile team to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools. You will collaborate with developers experienced in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems to build robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for customers. Your daily work involves performing unit tests and conducting code reviews to ensure software is elegantly coded and tuned for performance. The role requires proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, and SQL, along with experience in Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases like Mongo or Cassandra, and cloud warehousing services such as Redshift or Snowflake. You will also utilize distributed computing tools including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, and Gurobi while working within a Linux environment using shell scripting to solve complex data problems.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools.
Build robust cloud-based data solutions using Redshift or Snowflake.
Develop applications using Java, Scala, Python, and various RDBMS/NoSQL databases.
Implement distributed microservices and real-time data streaming applications.
Perform unit tests and conduct peer code reviews to ensure performance and quality.
Mentor other members of the engineering community on emerging technologies and best practices.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in application development.
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java (preferred).
4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) (preferred).
4+ years of experience with Distributed data/computing tools, real-time streaming applications, NoSQL implementation, and data warehousing (preferred).
2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree.
