As a Lead Data Engineer, you will join a collaborative team of developers to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions within an Agile environment. You will work alongside experts in machine learning and distributed microservices to build robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for customers. Your daily responsibilities include performing unit tests, conducting code reviews, and mentoring other members of the engineering community while staying current on emerging technology trends. The role requires proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, and SQL, along with experience in Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases like Mongo or Cassandra, and cloud warehousing services such as Redshift and Snowflake. You will also utilize distributed computing tools including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, and MySQL while working within UNIX/Linux environments to solve complex data problems.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and implement technical solutions using full-stack development tools.
Build robust cloud-based data solutions using Redshift or Snowflake.
Develop applications using Java, Scala, Python, and various RDBMS/NoSQL databases.
Implement distributed microservices and manage real-time data streaming applications.
Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure performance and quality.
Mentor other members of the engineering community on emerging technologies.
Stay current on technology trends and participate in technical communities.

What we're looking for

At least 4 years of experience in application development.
At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java (preferred).
4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) (preferred).
4+ years of experience with Distributed data/computing tools, real-time streaming, NoSQL implementation, and data warehousing (preferred).
2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices (preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree.
