Lead Data Architect
The Lead Data Architect joins the team to design and govern real-time and event-driven data architectures while defining end-to-end patterns for real-time, near-real-time, and batch processing. This role involves developing reference architectures, data flow diagrams, and technical standards to guide platform teams, alongside leading proofs of concept and technology evaluations. The position requires expertise in streaming architectures using Apache Kafka and Azure services, including Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Functions, and Kubernetes Service. Candidates should also possess skills in Databricks, AWS, and Apache Airflow. The role focuses on the banking and financial market infrastructure domain, specifically addressing the technical challenges of migrating from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms while ensuring high security, availability, and compliance within regulated environments for payment solutions.
Design and govern real-time and event-driven data architectures using Apache Kafka and Azure streaming services.
Define and maintain end-to-end data architecture patterns for real-time, near-real-time, and batch processing.
Develop reference architectures, data flow diagrams, and technical standards to guide platform and delivery teams.
Partner with Data Engineering, Platform, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver scalable and compliant solutions.
Lead proofs of concept and technology evaluations to provide architectural recommendations and trade-off analyses.
Deliver enterprise-scale streaming and batch data solutions using Azure data and analytics platforms.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced degree, or 4+ years with a PhD, or 13+ years total.
Experience of with a Bachelor's, with an Advanced degree, or with a PhD is preferred.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
Expertise in streaming architectures and hands-on experience with Azure data platforms like Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and AKS is required.
Proven experience designing and delivering both streaming and batch data solutions at enterprise scale is required.
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required.
Experience with Databricks, AWS, and Apache Airflow is preferred.
Prior experience in banking or financial services within regulated environments is preferred.
