As a Data Architect, Lead on the Army Data Engineering team, you will lead the design of data architecture solutions to integrate pipelines from numerous intelligence sources. You will collaborate with business analysts and technology teams to resolve complex issues by analyzing data models and tools to provide a comprehensive view of available intelligence. Your daily responsibilities include leading your team in designing, developing, and testing cloud solution components while serving as a liaison between clients and developers. You will manage ETL/ELT processes, data governance, metadata management, and quality frameworks to solve critical intelligence integration challenges for the Army while utilizing tools like Airflow, DBT, Jira, and Confluence.

What you'll do

Design data architecture solutions to integrate intelligence data from numerous Army sources.
Resolve complex data architecture issues by analyzing data models and tools with business analysts.
Implement best practices for data warehousing, ETL processes, SQL, SSIS, and OLAP.
Lead the team in designing, developing, and testing cloud solution components.
Serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure technical requirements are met.
Establish and enforce data governance, quality frameworks, metadata management, and access policies.
Develop project roadmaps and manage schedule-bound technical engagements against specific statements of work.

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics engineering.
8+ years of experience with SQL and database modeling including query optimization and cloud platforms.
Experience with Python data frameworks for processing, transformation, and automation.
Experience designing and governing data architectures in AWS-based environments.
Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern data pipeline architectures.
Experience with project management to deliver schedule-bound technical engagements.
TS/SCI clearance is required.
Bachelor's degree in a Data or IT field and ability to obtain DoD 8570 or 8140 IAT Level II Certification within 30 days.
