Lead Data Analyst– Investment Data Strategy joins the Investment Data Strategy & Architecture team to shape the future of investment data capabilities across the firm. This role sits at the intersection of investment management, data strategy, and technology delivery. You will partner with engineers, architects, and front-office stakeholders like portfolio managers and traders to define strategic data capabilities for decision-making, analytics, reporting, and emerging AI features. Key responsibilities include defining logical data models, metadata standards, and quality frameworks while translating complex investment processes into scalable solutions. The role requires deep investment domain knowledge, systems thinking, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Required skills include experience in asset management and business analysis. Preferred technical competencies include advanced SQL, Python for prototyping, relational data modeling, UML diagrams, and proficiency with Jira and Confluence within agile environments.
Define and promote the strategic vision for investment data capabilities across the organization.
Perform deep analysis of investment datasets, workflows, and business processes to identify operational issues.
Develop conceptual architectures, process flows, and solution designs to translate complex investment processes into scalable technology.
Drive the adoption of enterprise data architecture principles, metadata standards, and governance frameworks.
Identify opportunities for simplifying, standardizing, and reusing data across the firm's ecosystem.
Support enterprise initiatives related to AI, data quality, and lineage management.
Partner with front-office stakeholders and technical teams to deliver strategic data capabilities.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Strategy, Data Architecture, Product Strategy, Investment Technology, or related disciplines.
Experience within Asset Management, Investment Management, Hedge Funds, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or related financial services organizations.
Strong understanding of front-office investment workflows and investment data.
Experience working directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Research Analysts, Risk teams, or Quantitative teams.
Experience defining business capabilities, operating models, and strategic roadmaps.
Experience partnering with agile software development teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through delivery.
Advanced SQL skills (preferred); Python experience for data analysis and prototyping (preferred).
