The Lead Angular Developer will join the Cat Digital team to drive the design and development of next-generation, tablet-first applications. This role serves as a technical leader across multiple teams, shaping scalable frontend architecture and delivering high-performance user experiences. You will build interactive, real-time interfaces to visualize and control autonomous systems using live data and AI-driven outputs. Key responsibilities include owning UI frameworks, state management, and establishing engineering standards. You will utilize Angular, RxJS, NgRx, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ionic, and Capacitor. The role involves integrating real-time data systems like WebSockets and 3D visualization via NVIDIA Omniverse. You will also implement Spec-Driven Development and AI-augmented delivery using tools like Claude Code to solve complex industrial autonomy and digital twin problems.
Define frontend architecture including UI frameworks, state management, and application structure across multiple teams.
Design and deliver tablet-first applications using Angular and Ionic/Capacitor for mobile and console-like environments.
Build interactive, real-time user interfaces to visualize and control autonomous systems using live data and AI outputs.
Drive performance optimization for low-latency behavior on constrained mobile and tablet devices.
Establish engineering standards, reusable components, and best practices for long-term scalability.
Lead technical design reviews, guide implementation, and mentor engineers across various teams.
Ensure software quality through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and application observability.
Drive AI-augmented delivery using Spec-Driven Development and coding assistants to accelerate design and testing.
What we're looking for
Experience in software engineering with strong expertise in frontend architecture (preferred).
Experience leading a team of engineers (preferred).
Strong experience with Angular, RxJS, state management (NgRx or similar), JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend design patterns (preferred).
Hands-on experience building hybrid mobile applications using Ionic and Capacitor with performance optimization for mobile/tablet environments (preferred).
Experience integrating real-time data systems using WebSockets and event-driven architectures (preferred).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and backend systems like Node.js (preferred).
Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) in production delivery (preferred).
Experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) or equivalent spec-first methodologies (preferred).
